- What's for Dinner: Whole wheat linguini with pomodoro sauce
I was at a meeting with co-workers today, sitting at a big table with my back towards the wall. When it was over I stood up and stepped back. My foot came down on what I thought was just some kind of woodwork trim along the bottom of the wall and I felt myself lose balance and start tipping backwards. I figured if I tried to react, I'd probably overcompensate and end up falling forward into the table or something. Not wanting to make a big spectacle of myself, I decided I'd just let myself casually fall the couple inches back against the wall and then straighten right back up. (Yeah, it's amazing how much thinking you can do in a split second.) However, I was farther away from the wall then I thought...like a foot away. What I thought was just woodwork trim was actually something built out along the floor about 10 inches from the wall and 6 inches high. My left shoulder blade, shoulder, and head hit the wall with a big THUMP. Needless to say, my friends enjoyed the flailing production number.
I have a couple little boo-boos, but no real damage done. At least the picture that was hanging there didn't come crashing down. Now THAT would have been embarrassing.
