Coupon Crazy

Between heart disease awareness and Valentine's Day, February seems to be all about the color red. So I colored my hair yesterday to fit in.  Actually, the color is "Cinnaberry" which is more of an auburn shade. It's been over a year since I last colored it, and I was really not liking my natural brown color anymore. Over the years it's gotten lighter, and next to my fair skin I think it really makes me look washed out and blah. I didn't feel like my face had any color, even when I was wearing blush. I think the auburn really makes me look more alive and even brings out the blue of my eyes. I'm happy.

Jeanie, you would have been proud of me today. I bought $234.00 of stuff at the grocery store today for $112.00!  I saved $52.00 with coupons, and the rest by using my store value card for sale prices. Anymore, prices of groceries, especially produce and meat, are so high, it's easy to hit $100.00 with very little to show for it, so I was quite pleased with my cart full of food, bath products, vitamins, pet food, etc. Since we shop together, my mom and I have a good system for coupons going where she cuts them out of the Sunday paper inserts and I print them from online coupon sites like www.coolsavings.com and www.coupons.com. Then we share and swap. Every little bit helps in this economy.

Tomorrow is President's Day and a day off work for me. Long live 3-day weekends!
