There's a fairly common expression that I just don't get. At work today somebody was describing how funny something was that happened, and she said, "I fell out." Whenever I hear that, I always want to interrupt the person talking and ask, "Fell out of what? Your chair? The bed? Your shoes? The window? Did you get hurt?" It just seems like there needs to be more at the end of that phrase.

Work lingo: When someone comes up to you and says, "You know how we all make mistakes?" that translates into, "I screwed up and now I need you to fix this."
