Boy I felt like a dope today. The air conditioner guy came out and at first thought the pump had gone bad because he plugged it back into the outlet and it wouldn't kick on, even though it was filled with water. He was ready to put in an order for a new one when we decided to check the outlet just to make sure it was working. I tested a lamp and it wouldn't turn on. So then we tried plugging the pump into a different outlet and it worked, draining the water outside like it's supposed to. I couldn't believe it.  I'm still baffled because when I went down there Saturday, I swear I heard the pump motor after I had already turned off the a/c unit. That's why I thought I should unplug it because I didn't want it to keep running if it wasn't working correctly. I just don't get it. So I had to pay for a service call I really didn't need and now I guess I'm going to have to get an electrician. I still don't see how an outlet just stops working one day after 4 years of working perfectly fine, but what do I know?

It's always something with home ownership, isn't it?  I really need to get a new roof soon too. Sometimes it all seems a bit overwhelming and makes me feel beaten down, at least temporarily.  Plus we're in a war, the price of gas is already enough to make me feel sick, and now they're talking about how the cost of food and other things will be going up as well. WTF is going on with the world? I just don't understand it all, I guess, and sometimes it seems like a lot for one person to deal with.

My funk will pass; it always does. I'm relatively healthy and, all things considered, life is not too bad. I just need to dig my way out from under this crushing, overwhelmed feeling. To start, I think I need to seriously clean house and get rid of stuff. I feel the need for a purge and some freedom.

We need a new roof too. Makes me want to cry.

Doesn't that just frost your cookies? I've had that happen to me, too, and it's totally embarrassing. But, as you say, it's always something with home ownership - the roof needs repairing, the furnace needs to be replaced, the foundation needs to be refinished and sealed... Personally, I think a sense of humor should be mandatory for anyone buying a home, these days; it's the only thing that prevents us from losing our minds. LOL

I can relate to feeling overwhelmed and weighed down, Francine. I think it's something a lot of people are feeling, right now, as Mercury is about to go Retrograde again (if you don't know what that is, it's basically when everything goes nuts for a couple of weeks and negative energies of all sorts come to the fore...).

I hope you feel better soon. If the weather allows it, maybe getting outside into the sunshine for awhile will help; the Vitamin D does wonders for me when I'm in a funk...

Ooh! I'm sorry you were having a bad day, Francine. Did you make sure that the breaker wasn't flipped and just needs turned back on again for that outlet? Hoping your having a better day today. *hugs*
