Hi AD. Next time you're in McD's, try their iced coffee ... it's delicious. Iced tea? I don't like sugar. Also, good news with your mom.
That is HUGE! When I first started there and for about 15 years, we wore strictly business attire: suits, dresses, etc. Some people complained repeatedly that they couldn't afford to go out and buy those "fancy" clothes all the time just for work. So finally a couple of years ago we went business casual, meaning things like khaki pants, capris, corduroys, etc. were fine. Some folks still complained that they shouldn't have to go out and buy special casual clothes when all they normally wear are jeans. So now the day has arrived when folks can actually wear jeans every day if they want. Everybody should be happy, right? Not exactly. Part of the new dress code guidelines states that women can't wear shoes that expose both their toes AND heels, but one or the other is okay. Up until now, dressy summer sandals were acceptable. The problem is that some women interpreted that to mean that thong flip-flops were appropriate as well. So because some of them continuously pushed the envelope, the new rule was put into place. Personally, I'm happy with the new guidelines. I think the people who run the company have every right to request that the folks who work for them dress in a style they feel is appropriate. And if folks don't like it, nobody is forcing them to work there. I think the bottom line is that you can never please some people, especially those who just like to complain.
