Trick or Treat

  • Mood:
  • What's for Dinner: Steak, salad, and pumpkin pie

I had a bit of a sore back today so I dug out this Kozy Collar thing I bought at a craft show years ago. You can throw it in the microwave for a couple minutes to heat it up. It's stuffed with herbs and has a strong scent of mint, which is supposed to be soothing. Of course mint is also related to catnip and soothing is not exactly the effect the scent has on my cats.  Picture four-legged stoners with the munchies. Gonna have to buy more treats when I hit the grocery store.

I didn't see any signs of mischief from last night. My mom said she didn't see anything either, which I was glad about. I think it rained, so maybe that kept any potential evil doers at home. Or maybe the tradition is dying out, which would make me very happy.

It looks like it's still raining on and off. It's been gray all day and there are puddles everywhere. No sign of any kids yet. I think I'm just going to keep the front light off and hunker down with a movie. It's mostly teens around here now anyway, and they rarely even bother coming up with a real costume. So I'll share the candy I have with all of you instead. Dig in and pick your favorite; there are more kinds on the bottom. Don't be greedy now; one per customer, please. Leave a comment and tell me what you'd choose. I usually went for a 5th Avenue (I don't think they make those anymore  ) or a Reese's PB Cup.

I'll grab me a 3 Musketeers! funny thing with neighborhoods. People of the same age tend to congregate together, so when the kids are little, there are tons of trick or treaters. But once that group grows up, it starts looking pretty scarce and you become a neighborhood of teen owned beater cars parked on the road and loud music coming from garages of parents unlucky enough to have their kids be in a band.
